Have you seen it yet? V is for Vendetta is by the makers of The Matrix. It’s a fantastic story about control, freedom, fear, government, and the very present future.
There were many moments in the film that got me thinking, but I’d like to highlight just this one for now. At one point the main character “V” said, “Freedom is a perspective.”
I started to think about this more. Is freedom just a perspective or is it more than that? Isn’t freedom, instead, a universal Truth, often hidden by the shadows of fear, ego, greed, and misunderstanding?
So what came to me was this –
Fear is a perspective
Freedom is the Truth.
Fear is so much easier to overcome when you just see it as a point of view rather than a hard-edged object to dodge. And I believe freedom is more than just a point of view. Freedom is the Truth, capital “T.” Freedom is a fixed fact and because it’s a fixed fact, it can be experienced by everyone. It doesn’t discriminate. It’s no respecter of persons. It’s there for the taking and it can never run out. It only needs to be understood and claimed as our own.
